Captive Round Chain Bracelet or Necklace

Faux Dichroic Magic

Learn how to create a convincing imitation of Dichroic Glass with all it's color and vibrancy using polymer clay and quick curing resin. In this class participants will learn mylar foiling technique to complete at least one of two provided bezel settings. We'll complete the pendant with a cabochon effect that mimics glass using resin. Imprint Mokume Tribal Pendants
Instructor Julie Picarello, mixed media and polymer clay artist and teacher. Skill: All Levels. Date & Time: Tuesday, February 2nd, 8:00am-3:00pm. Workshop Fee: $80, includes kit. Mokume Gane, which loosely translates to "wood-grain-metal", is a Japanese metalworking technique traditionally used to adorn samurai swords.  In this 6-hour workshop, a loose adaptation of the technique will be used to create vibrantly colored and uniquely detailed Tribal Pendants. Students will focus on the process of designing both dimensional and mixed media beads, including: 1) Color - Sources of inspiration - Color mixing tips, 2) Imprints & Textures- Review a variety of imprint and texture tools- Learn a simple method of holographic “mica shift”, 3) Bead Accents, Shaping & Finishing- Incorporating metal accents - Cutting, smoothing and curing preparation- Info and tips on sanding, buffing and bead drilling techniques. Artistic Wire Design Workshop

Exploration of Resins - Creating Transparent Jewelry
Instructor: Susan Lenart Kazmer of Objects and Elements. Date: Thursday February 4th, from 3pm-6pm. Skill: All levels. Workshop Fee: $30. Explore the vast possibilities resins have to offer in combination with metalwork. This hands on workshop offers many ground breaking techniques from filling hollow bezel forms, creating colorful stone like textures and building free form elements from organic material. Clay & Resin Collage Pendant

Students will combine these with a variety of Amate findings and transfers to design a layered collage, all in the thickness of a fraction of an inch.
